Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been widespread.

Season 1 introduces a large cast of characters living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by songs about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Could a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season moves, and how many of what they're anticipating happens now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a couple people create a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
